Rick Short is the owner of HandyDad Rick and the heart behind the Safe at Home program. A proud Marine veteran and a former Regional Maintenance Director for Assisted Living, Rick brings a strong sense of service, responsibility, and reliability to every home he enters.
Rick grew up on a farm, where he learned practical repair, maintenance, and problem-solving skills from three generations of dads before him. Those hands-on lessons shaped the way he works today: with patience, care, common sense, and respect for doing things the right way. And the "Occasional" Dad Joke.
